This year's (2004) WKMHS Past Students Association's annual reunion in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, was the 10th anniversary of the event.
The Dinner/Dance had a wealth of Dignitaries and was Hosted by the very capable Derek 'Press' Scott.
The guest speaker was Ricardo Allicock, Consul General (Southeast Regional, USA), and representing our sponsor, Air Jamaica, was Fay Chung (Florida Region).
Also present was Ms. Cheryl Winter from JIS who came to cover the event, and
Mr. John Marshall Spence, who graduated from Knibb back in 1965.
The audience was a diverse group, which included three Americans who travelled from Sarasota, Florida, (guest of Nan's, ie. "Nan Tosh") and they promised to return next year.
The members continued to deliver with activities ranging from a birthday celebration for John Hudson "John T" at The Memory Lane Club
on Thurday night; Food, fun and chit chat at Faye Kelley's residence on Friday; Breakfast at Madge 'Hold The Line' Johnson on
Saturday morning; Saturday night Dinner/Dance, and a leisurely Sunday dinner at Pat Adrian's Quarters.
Then for those who couldn't get enough, there was the all night vigil from Sunday night to Monday morning at some 'corner' bar frequented by Danny Shirley and
his cohorts somewhere in Ft. Lauderdale.
Last year, a monitored monetary gift was sent to the school from the proceeds of the function.
There is no information just yet concerning this year's proceeds.
There is an ongoing discussion regarding improvement of the annual event and valuable inputs would be appreciated.
Thanks to all for the continued support.
See you all next year, and remember: Everybody is invited; Alumni, friends, and well wishers alike.
