The Essay Competition started by the Rotary Club of Falmouth earlier this year, came to an end two weeks ago, with
Duanvale Primary School emerging the winning school in the Parish.
The competition was one of the events of the 100th Anniversary Celebrations of Rotary throughout the world this year.
The topic "Is it the Truth?" , written by 10 year old Emolie Williams, was taken from Rotary's 4-way test
(the Philosophy that Rotarians live by).
Duanvale Primary School, winner of the Competition received prizes of two (2) Dell Computers. The winning essay writer
received the prizes on behalf of his school in a special Prize Giving Ceremony arranged at a recent Rotary meeting.
Outgoing President Florence Logan made the presentation. The computers were donated to the Falmouth Rotary Club
by Hands Across Trelawny (HAT), an overseas based organization, in keeping with their
Computer Literacy Program for schools in the parish.
