Fellow Trelawnyites,
I am very excited about this May's Memorial Reunion Picnic Weekend and I am sure you will be too after reading about the positive and exciting events planned.
First, do you realize that we are the only parish expatriates in the US who has such a long-running event - 22 years and going stronger by the year.
Even though this is operated by FOTA, it is truly a Trelawny event and as Chairman I welcome all other group's participation in every positive manner.
We have planned what is going to be an elegant affair on Friday May 28th, our Dinner/Dance to be held this year at Radisson JFK Airpot Hotel in Queens New York,
I was informed that this hotel is noted to be best in preparation of Jamaican dishes in the NY area. ( yes this year you will be served your curry goat, chicken and fish).
Your contribution for this event with Music by Sly Slick (Stevie Gregg) only $50;00 each.
Saturday at the same Radisson we will be hosting what is billed to be "Trelawny Investment & Opportunity Symposium" (1:00pm - 5:00pm).
Live radio broadcast is been arranged with portions live in Jamaica. Minister of Development (out of the Office of the PM) Paul Robertson has expressed is interest in been a panelist,
with Kingsley Thomas - Development Bank of Jamaica President, Patricia Francis JAMPRO Chairman, Una Clarke Governor of NY Development Office,
Dr. Patrick Harris & Devon McDaniel MPs, Mayor Fred Bartley of Falmouth and Victoria Mutual Building Society's Manager.
Trelawny is "HOT" property for development, and what better way to learn about available investments and how to acquire them than this day?
People from India, China, Korea and the US are trying to do what we should and must do, come and learn, here is your opportunity.
Free lunch will be served too! plus Live cultural entertainment for our pleasure.
Sunday May 30th, just bring your spirit for another great Picnic Day - no sales, lots of give aways in store for families. Bring lots of food to share.
We will for the first time this year have framed instant photographs available for interested parties.
You can make one stop travel arrangements with Elite Vacations (operated by Nicole Ellis and her husband Norman Bell) (718) 346 3237.
Free p/u at JFK, hotel accomodation and flight arrangements, plus possible transportation from hotel to picnic site on Sunday.
Please remember that this year we are continuing our book drive collection along with new or used toys.
All collections will be shipped to the Trelawny Parish Library for the entire parish.
Finally our profits this year will go towards the purchase of "Play Equipment" forat least 9 Basic School in Trelawny (1 in each Parish Council Division).
