What A Move ! ! !

With all the anxiety and debate about moving the picnic to a new venue, I must say that the turnout spoke volumes about what this picnic means to the Trelawny community, and the effort on the part of the organizers (FOTA and members of this website) to get the word out and keep the Trelawny community together...well done Mr. Mike Wattkis and members of your team.

It is hard not to miss the old park after twenty-plus years of memory, but I see the potential of the new park which simply is not offered at the old park. This new venue begs for the presence of a PA system for announcements, such as lost children, coordinating children's activities, announcing raffle winners, lost-and-found, and general emergencies. I'm sure we will have a PA system in place for next year.

This reunion picnic is about children, family, and friends, and it should not loose that atmosphere regardless of growth and incentives to transform it into something else. Speaking of friends, I saw "Asha" (aka Skullelick, junior), Alton McDonald (Cheeta's younger brother) and "Lawyer" for the first time in over thirty years.

Special mention to Belver, who came all the way from down under (Melbourne, Australia) to be with us again this year.
